There will be a free hair care consultation class on Thursday 08/30/07. This class is for people who are interested in transitioning from using chemicals to natural means of growing hair through braiding, weaving, locks etc. People with natural hair are also very much welcome as they will learn about how to maintain natural hair.
This class will showcase among other things the many problems that adding chemicals to hair causes, how to care for natural hair, the various unique styles that can be done on natural hair. We hope that through this class you will be able to wear your healthy natural with pride.

Hair braiding is an ancient art, handed down from generation to generation in Africa. The origins of the art form can be traced back to Egypt as far as 3500 BCE. In many West African countries, hair braiding developed into complex patterns signaling one's social status, age group and village affiliation. Certain elaborate hair treatments were reserved for ceremonial occasions such as weddings.
